An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure
Regular waxing is a simple, cost-effective way to keep your paint job healthy and clean. Neglecting this important maintenance practice has costly consequences – from increased frequency of cleanings to needing a new paint job.

To maintain the paint job/gelcoat on your topsides and superstructure, it is critical to wax at least a couple of times a season. Wax keeps your gel coat and paint sealed, discourages dirt and staining, and offers protection from harmful UV rays. Without this protection, sun damage will cause oxidation, resulting in heavy fading and loss of your gloss finish.

The key to a good polish job is to determine what state the surface is in and then proceed with the proper treatment and materials. A matte, faded surface might need compounding and buffing. Stained but uniform-colored surfaces suggest a cleaner followed by wax. Regularly maintained, glossy surfaces will only require the re-application of wax.
